I'm an anthropologist with one foot in the psychology world. I'm interested in how people make judgments about what is real, and how they learn to change them--how people learn to hear God speak, or feel magical power. And I am interested in how those experiences differ from hearing distressing voices and how those psychiatric experiences might also be shaped by learning or cultural invitation.
